First Day of PENZANCE HOOFCARE CERTIFICATION COURSE Winter 2005
Just a quick ditti to crow a little bit. Not only am I very grateful for a dedicated group of people who really WANT to learn all they can about the Natural Horse and are willing to brave one of the coldest days of the year outdoors; I'm proud to see the effects of PENZANCE Progressive Partnership Training ... you'll notice in these photos that not one horse is restrained; all are free to walk away if they so chose. Not one did. The willing lifted each hoof for critique and observation while humans poked and prodded and wrote notes on flapping sheets of white, horse-eating paper ... One of the yearlings decided to play with a purple glove AFTER she decided that eating a piece of the white paper attached to the unyielding clipboard was not her cup of tea and provided a bit of entertainment in the cold, blustery afternoon. The horses who were not being examined were curious and friendly and trying to "help" those who were being examined. Not once was there an aggressive ear laid back or snaked neck or other driving off behavior. Every horse was willing, pleasant and happy to be part of the human "group" and curious as to what was actually going on. What a day! It was cold, bitterly cold, but no one seemed to mind as everyone was intent on learning. What more could I ask for? Great people - great horses! :)
